Part of me wants to whisper that December 2025 is now here — but as much as I like Christmas, I’m not ready yet. I’ve still got too many presents to buy and far too many things to do…
The days are shorter, the nights feel heavier, and there’s this kind of quiet that sneaks in and makes you notice things you usually ignore.
As a writer, I tend to think about all the little things: the oojamaflips, the thingamabobs, the thingamajigs, and the whatchamacallits that hide inside or beneath the surfaces of other gizmos, gadgets, and contrivances. Or even the forgotten houses lost in time. And let’s not forget the strange objects — and even stranger people — who seem to carry their own stories or hold secrets like they’re breathing underwater.
Maybe it’s the season, or maybe I’m just noticing more… more to ponder, more to deliberate over.
And of course, I can’t stop thinking about By Order of the Shaman. This one’s been living in my head for a very long time, and now it’s out there. I wanted to share it with you — because it’s really a journey we can travel on together. It’s got that edge of curiosity mixed with danger — the kind that makes you glance over your shoulder or hesitate before stepping through a door into a darkened room. That feeling of not quite knowing what you’re walking into… that’s what this story is all about.
For some, the Shaman is an unpredictable voyage into the no-man’s-land of mental mystery, where the spiritual tries to converge with the physiological. The story is designed to make you think, to make you feel the rawness of life itself — even to make you question everything about you. Isn’t that what life is all about? Experience?
We begin with a Gothic-Edwardian mansion. A charismatic, yet unsettling Shaman. A sealed ritual steeped in incense, devotion, symbology… and the unknown. What begins as a night of spiritual awakening turns into a nightmare of locked doors, trembling souls, and terrible choices. What’s not to like?
