I have been in recent talks with some interesting parapsychologists, as my story ‘One Winter’s Day in June’ caught their eye. For those of you that are not familiar with this short book, it is based on the true story of a five-year-old boy with a disturbing past life memory.

Parapsychology is the study of the more unusual mental phenomena associated with both the mind and the ‘postulated’ spirit. I chatted on a particular Facebook group that I was invited to and ended up looking further afield and into other groups of a similar nature. It is always fascinating to me the amount of people that are interested in the subject of past lives or are looking for answers to questions that they have.

Feel free to share any of your own stories on my blog, Facebook or by replying to this email. It is always fascinating to hear these different stories.

On a separate note, for those of you looking to pursue a literary career, I must impart some knowledge that I have gleaned over these last few months. I think if I have learned anything during this writing journey, it is to thoroughly review the estimation of effort that is really needed to bring a book to life in its entirety. That said, I have tended to opt for various internal illustrations and quality book covers, so therefore I can expect to pay a little extra, but when I started out I really did not understand the magnitude of what went into a completed book and so kudos to all the author’s out there doing it every day.

I thought I’d share a sneak preview to an internal map I have had made for the upcoming Christopher Daring novel: The Forest of Riddles, by the brilliant illustrator Dawn Larder. I have been having great fun with the internal illustrations and with the map finished, they are almost wrapped up. You can see her great array of works at: http://www.theglimmertwinarthouse.com/

In other news, for any of you on Goodreads, we still have an exciting giveaway happening for What’s the Time Mr Wolfdog?, here: Giveaway

I have a lot happening with the Christopher Daring series and so I thought I would tell you all about it.

Originally I wrote two short Christopher Daring stories: The Ghostly Penny Farthing and The Golden Pocket Watch (these are currently available on Amazon). I then wrote the third book, but as I wrote, I found I had so much to say that it turned into a full-length novel. The series was finally taking hold and moving in the direction of a much bigger adventure story — one that I had actually envisioned when I was a teenager.

Following some advice, I combined my first two books and added to the story to create a brand-new novel: Spirits of The Dead. This, followed by my next book, now named The Forest of Riddles are the two exciting books I am currently working on.

You can see the trailer for the original books here, before they too are updated.

So now to give you the update:

Spirits of the Dead has just come back from a thorough editing job and once I make the final critiques the text is done and dusted! The Forest of Riddles has gone off to the editor and that should be back within a few weeks too.

Meanwhile I have contacted a new illustrator to make beautiful personalised front cover art. As seen on the wonderful Royal Institute of Magic series:

To add to the magic inside the book, The Forest of Riddles is also having some internal illustrations done as we speak!

Therefore you can see that though things appear quiet, that is just a precursor to wonderful things to come.

January Newsletter

First off, I would like to say hello and thank you for subscribing to my mailing list!

With it being the first month of the year and my first ever newsletter I thought I would give you an overall round-up of where everything is at with my writing. I know some of you are here as you know me personally, and others for the love of my books and I thank you both!

I am a rather eclectic writer, my genres currently covering thriller, spirituality, erotica, ghost stories and children’s fantasy and adventure. You can read all about them in further depth on my website: www.stephenjwillis.com

My short ghost story:

A Figure In The Mist, is available in print, e-book and audio. When you subscribe to my mailing list you get a totally free copy of both the e-book and the audio, so if you haven’t yet received yours, just reply to this email and let us know.

My novellas:

Time for Obsession is available in print and e-book from Amazon.
You can pick up a copy by clicking here.

An Erotic Short True Story

From just one innocent glance at a desirable young man, a beautiful woman is driven beyond her sensibilities to where want and desire know no bounds.

With youth comes innocence, where there is sanity one can surely find insanity.

What started out as an innocent night of passion, takes an unexpected turn into a dark and disturbing experience. Little did Joey know, that something so alluring and forbidden could be so arousing. There is more to Katherine than meets the eye, where a night to remember became a night to forget…

One Winter’s Day in June is available in print and e-book from Amazon.

An incredible short story based on a real-life event.

Enslaved by a past life memory and beaten into submission by his own mind, young Oliver is becoming further and further disconnected from the world about him, as an invisible force takes control of his subconscious.

Unable to reach deep into his psyche, Oliver is prey to the psychological trauma of a disturbing past life. A force which dictates both thoughts and feelings he cannot escape. Yet Oliver reacts out of character to an unknown male visitor, to whom his distraught mother, now at her wits end, responds to with both fear and dislike.

Can this unexpected stranger liberate the child from his own behavioral constraints?

My thriller:

What’s The Time Mr Wolfdog? is available in print and e-book from Amazon.
You can pick up a copy by clicking here.

Before the lone wolf’s cry, Tim Connery had been resigned to the fact of a cold Christmas alone. Encompassed by snowy landscapes, the views from his cottage toward the outbound vistas were but another reminder of his desolation.

Before long, however, Tim suddenly finds himself surrounded by a battalion of desperate and starving dogs that have recently broken free from the nearest pound for illegal and unstable animals. Since being liberated from restraint and subservient only to a vicious pack leader, they will do anything and eat anything to survive — and Tim is no exception to the menu.

Here, the line between man and beast becomes lost in the overwhelming will to endure and overcome, wherein only the victor will survive to tell the tale.

My Teen Adventure Series:

The Christopher Daring series. This is suitable for all ages and can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

Some of you may be familiar with the two short stories I have written featuring Christopher Daring. The big news is that these original two are being amalgamated into one full-length novel, the second draft has actually just been wrapped up. The second full-length novel of the series is also in its second draft, and we plan on having a big launch for the series with both books in the early part of this year! We will certainly keep you posted on this.

I have just decided on a monthly blog, and if you missed the email about it, you can read all about that here.
